Created at the same time the works captivate by their contrasts in style: Debussy's Petite Suite by its already impressionistic
character the unpublished transcriptions of two well-known movements of the Planets with Mars by the percussive use and
the dynamics Jupiter by the varied sections and polyphonic richness. Finally Bartók's magnificent suite
transcribed by the composer in a still post-romantic style with typically Hungarian accents and its frenzied rhythms
completes this program.

Tribute to Mozart…by Poulenc top ↑
Required: two pianos and small orchestra *
Brilliant exuberant «bubbling» music full of spontaneity and references (Baroque
Mozart Saint-Saëns Gershwin …) sometimes caricatural but so exquisite !
Marked by jazzed passages this double concerto too rarely played also recalls the atmosphere of Parisian
cafés. Like the great composers of the time such as Stravinsky Prokofiev or Hindemith the work borrows
from the neo-classical style. Notable particularity: Francis Poulenc was inspired by the Balinese gamelan by the
use of the six diatonic degrees. This concerto immediately highlights the virtuosity and musicality of the two pianists
in dialogue with the orchestra.
